Principal Gurney therefore assigns him to the classroom of the school's present science teacher, Mister Wadd, who
allows him to do nothing but simply sit and observe the classroom proceedings. When the insecure Mister Wadd's science
experiment goes awry, he blames Mister Peepers in order to get rid of him. Just when it looks like Mister Peepers'
career will thereby be prematurely curtailed, Mister Wadd mysteriously disappears. [UCLA]

Newspaper column (verifies 10Jul52 pre-emption) - Bob Lanigan's TV Review 25Jul1952:
You probably recall that I recently reviewed the new NBC-TV Thursday night program, "Mr. Peepers," starring Wally Cox.
I frankly thought the the premiere performance of this 30-minute situation comedy show had everything, and said so.
The second stanza of "Mr. Peepers" was postponed due to the Republican convention, but I caught it when it popped up
again last week. "Gott in himmel!" I yelped after the first ten minutes. "One of our writers is missing!"
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Any situation comedy is only as good as the script. I don't know what
happened to the writer who managed to insert so many deft touches of high comedy when the show made its debut.
But Fred Coe, the producer, better get him, or a reasonable facsimile, back to that typewriter - but fast!
